On Saturday, September 17, volunteers, donors, and community leaders welcomed the four newest Habitat homeowners to the Cambria community in a dedication ceremony. The Audette, Hatton, Townsend, and Turner families offered their sincere thanks to the thousands of Habitat supporters who gave so much of themselves, via donations of time, funds, or materials, to make homeownership a reality for them.
Bobette Meeter, HfHCC Director of Family Services, presented each family with a hammer and a Bible, a Habitat tradition. Habitat is a partnership founded on common ground—bridging theological differences by putting love into action. Everyone can use a hammer as an instrument to manifest God’s love. While we may disagree on many issues, we can agree on the idea of building homes with God’s people in need. As we focus on working together to build a house, we realize that our similarities become more important than our differences.
