Women Build

Chester County Commissioner, Kathi Cozzone (pictured standing at left), was joined by a group of ladies (and a few gentlemen) for the May 7 Women Build Day at Community Lane, Coatesville.

Women Build is a house…built by women! The Women Build program teaches women volunteers how to construct decent, affordable housing and creates a unique work site atmosphere for women who already have developed these skills.  Women Build is not about excluding men. It is about including women and opening new doors of opportunity. Men are at times involved in  supportive roles and as subcontractors when women from the necessary trades are not available.
