When it rains, it pours! In addition to the 45 home project currently underway in Coatesville, we have also purchased a piece of property in West Grove that will yield 40 homes. The property, located at the intersection of S. Guernsey Avenue and Willow Avenue, just off of the main square of West Grove, is a “raw” piece of land that will require quite a bit of infrastructure work before construction can begin. We are excited with the prospect of having this amount of land to work with, but more so because this brings us to the southern part of the county – an area we’ve been trying to find land in for the past several years. There has always been a need for affordable housing here, and we are thrilled to be in a position to fulfill that need.
But as with any purchase, there is a price tag. The cost of this parcel is $1 million and it is in our best interest to pay off the note over the next two years, during which time the loan will remain interest free. It’s a small price to pay for such a fantastic piece of land in a beautiful part of Chester County, but it’s one where we’ll need all the help we can get.
