As the year comes to a close, the holiday season offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on the incredible work we’ve accomplished together. At Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, we are filled with gratitude for the unwavering dedication and generosity of our volunteers and donors, who make our mission possible.
A Year of Service and Impact
Every year, our volunteers play a vital role in helping us create safe, decent, and affordable homes for families in need across Chester County. In fact, our volunteers contribute more than $500,000 worth of labor annually, and one extraordinary individual has given over 20 years of service to the Cambria project alone. This year, we are proud to honor the incredible individuals whose efforts have made a lasting impact on our community.
In November, we hosted our Volunteer Appreciation Event to celebrate these remarkable individuals. It was a heartwarming occasion where we recognized some of our most committed volunteers with the President’s Volunteer Service Awards. This prestigious national program honors those whose service creates tangible, lasting impacts in their communities.
President’s Volunteer Service Awards
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is given in recognition of a volunteer’s hours of service, categorized into four levels:
Bronze Level: 100-249 hours
Silver Level: 250-499 hours
Gold Level: 500+ hours
Lifetime Level: 4,000+ hours over a lifetime
This year, we are so proud to recognize 29 of our amazing volunteers with the national award:
13 volunteers at the Bronze Level
8 volunteers at the Silver Level
6 volunteers at the Gold Level
2 volunteers at the Lifetime Level
Each awardee received a certificate of achievement and a letter signed by President Joseph R. Biden Jr., expressing gratitude for their extraordinary service. These awards represent more than just hours served; they symbolize the selfless contributions that are at the heart of Habitat for Humanity’s mission.

The Power of Volunteers and Donors
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, decent, and affordable place to call home. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors, we’ve made great strides toward that vision. This year, we celebrated a huge milestone, the completion and dedication of our Cambria Terrace development in Coatesville, PA, a culmination of 20 years of hard work that resulted in 84 affordable homes. As we step into 2025, we’re eager for the exciting projects ahead in Coatesville and West Grove! From new builds on Lumber Street and Coates Street to the ongoing rehab work with our partners, the momentum continues! Our Fuller Meadows community in West Grove is halfway complete, and we're just getting started!
Your support allows families in Chester County to live, work, and thrive in homes that are built with love, care, and a commitment to community.
This December, as we reflect on the spirit of giving, we want to express our deepest thanks to the amazing individuals who answer the call to serve. Volunteers give their time, skills, and hearts, while donors provide the resources that allow us to continue our important work. Because of you, our Habitat homeowners will enjoy a safe and warm home this holiday season, creating cherished memories with loved ones.
Together, we are building more than just houses—we are building hope, community, and brighter futures.
Happy Holidays from all of us at Habitat for Humanity of Chester County!
On behalf of everyone at Habitat for Humanity of Chester County, we extend our warmest wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday season. Wishing everyone a joyful and safe holiday.
